Mission Team Schedule
Saturday August 9
Travel Day
We leave Bellingham at approximately 2:00 p.m. for Seattle to take United flight 262 at 10:02 p.m. (Pacific standard time) to Dulles International airport in Washington D.C.
Please pray for our safety, health, and protection.
Sunday, August 10
Travel Day
The team departs Dulles Airport on Ethiopian flight 503 at 10:05 a.m. (Eastern standard time) and heads for Addis Ababa, Ethopia with one stop in Rome for fueling only.
Please pray for protection and good health during this long flight.
Monday, August 11
Travel Day
After arriving in Addis Ababa at 8:20 a.m. (Eastern Africa time), we’ll leave on Ethiopian flight 801 for Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Arrival time in Kilimanjaro is 1:25 p.m. (Eastern Africa time). We’ll be met by Youth With A Mission staff and arrive at the YWAM Arusha base around 3:30 p.m. Then unpacking, getting settled and resting.
Please pray for our safety, clearing customs easily, and no missing luggage.
Please pray for a safe, good night’s sleep with a minimum of jet lag.
Tuesday, August 12
Base orientation, visit to the work site, Masaai Land and introductions to YWAM staff
Please pray for protection from sickness, fatigue, and red spitting cobras.
Wednesday, August 13
Medical outreach clinic in Engikaret, Masaai Land.
Please pray that we will be able to minister the love of Jesus and healing.
Thursday, August 14
Construction on the “Tumanini” Children’s Home near the base in Arusha.
Please pray for safety on the construction site and that the love of team members for each other would be very evident and be a witness to the unsaved.
Friday, August 15
Medical outreach clinics and construction on the “Tumanini” Children’s Home
Please pray for safety and a clear testimony to the Tanzanian laborers.
Saturday, August 16
Children’s Ministry with Kyoga children and the HIV/AIDS Ministry on Mt Meru.
Please pray for protection and health of each team member as we minister.
Sunday, August 17
Church services at a village church and at a city church in Arusha, Tanzania.
Please pray for Pastor Felix and Steve Hoffer as they bring the Word of God
Monday, August 18
The team travels by shuttle to Nairobi, Kenya to meet Thomas & Beatrice Omolo.
Please pray for safe travel and protection from sickness and disease.
Tuesday, August 19
Medical outreach clinic at Savior King Academy in the heart of Kibera, the world’s largest slum. Planting an Awana Club at the academy with CTK Awana commanders training volunteers. Visiting and ministering to school children, their families, neighbors and those affected by the devastation of HIV/AIDS, poverty and the recent political violence .
Please pray for safety and protection of the team members and that the Lordwould grant us great success as we minister for Him in Kenya.
Wednesday, August 20
The team returns to the Arusha base.
Please pray for safe travel and protection from accident or illness.
Thursday, August 21
Medical outreach clinics at Engikaret, Masaai Land
Please pray for safety while traveling, protection from disease and for divine appointments to share the Good News.
Friday, August 22
Construction and medical outreach clinics.
Please pray for each team member’s stamina, health and energy level as we reach the half way point of the trip and that we would build meaningful relationships.
Saturday, August 23
Children’s ministry at Mt Meru with the Kyoga children and visit to Shalom Center.
Please pray that we will reach these children and their families for Christ.
Sunday, August 24
The team members will attend church services in and around Arusha.
Please pray for Steve Hoffer and Pastor Felix Anderson as they preach, teachand deliver God’s message through Swahili and Maa translators.
Pray that many would be saved, healed, delivered, and encouraged.
Monday, August 25
Official Dedication Ceremony for “Christ the King Community Clinic” and the Engikaret school, both built by the Africa 2007 team in partnership with the Arusha YWAM base. Many government officials will be present at this event.
Please pray that God will use this to reach many Masaai and others to bring them to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Please also pray that the favor God has granted us with the government will not only continue but increase.
Tuesday, August 26
Construction on the “Tumanini” Children’s Home and possible visit to SamaritanVillage.
Please pray that each team member would receive an extra measure of Grace.
Wednesday, August 27
Medical outreach clinic in Masaai Land.
Please pray that the entire village of Engikaret would turn to the real God and accept the gift of salvation.
Thursday, August 28
Safari Day - The team will head out for Ngorongoro Crater for an all day adventure.
Please pray for safety and protection of the team and that God would provide divine appointments for us to share His love.
Friday, August 29
Shopping and Love Feast Please pray that God will help us bless our hosts in a very meaningful way, give them encouragement and show them that we care.
Pray that He would meet the financial, physical and spiritual needs of the YWAM staff, students and workers.
Saturday, August 30
The team begins their long journey back to the United States of America.
Please pray for safety and protection.
Sunday, August 31
Estimated time of arrival in Seattle is 3:05 p.m.
Please pray that team members will be restored quickly - physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
