Sarah:
I want to send a HUGE hug to all my family and friends in
This is a poem that God placed on my heart after our visit to Kibera:
Walk with me
I want to show you the people God loves
Come this way
Step over the rotting garbage blanketing their crowded streets
Look past the dirty clothes and swarming flies
Look into their eyes
See the distrusting fear
The unexplainable joy
The overwhelming pain
These are the people God loves
The ones He created this world for
These are precious people
The ones Christ died to ransom and rescue
Walk with me
I want to show you the people God loves
Come this way
Step over the possessions that pacify their restlessness
Look past their manicured appearance
Look into their eyes
See the prideful skepticism
The hollow individualism
The longing for purpose
These are the people God loves
The ones He created this world for
These are precious people
The ones Christ died to ransom and rescue
Those in Kibera’s Slum
The ones pursuing the “American Dream”
They are not that different
Look into their eyes
They need to be loved
They need to know that God calls them
Beautiful
Beloved
Worth Dying For
But how will they know unless we show them?
Look into their eyes…
And walk with me

This is so beautiful and a testament to God's love for all people. Thank you for sharing that!
Beautiful words and spirit! It's amazing how God opens our eyes and uncovers our ears, despite our stubbornness, to see the world in new ways. More truth yet shall break forth from His word! And isn't it incredible to not only receive it but seek it?
Love you Sarah, and you're in my prayers always - along with your teammates and those you are serving. God bless you. <3
